With outstanding expertise, Bernhard Schweizer has enlivened the Foreign Trade Committee for over 15 years. In recognition of his honorary services, Richard P. Gütermann presented him with the bronze pin of honor in the presence of Regula Schölly and Prof. Dr. Holger Reinecke on the part of Schölly, as well as Pascale Mollet-Piffert and Stefanie Blum on the part of the IHK Südlicher Oberrhein.

"A committee lives from active members who contribute approaches from their industry, who live the mutual exchange. Bernhard Schweizer always participates with commitment and passion and contributes to making the Foreign Trade Committee a lively and open discussion platform. For this and for his many years of commitment, we thank him today," said Gütermann.

Bernhard Schweizer, now an executive management consultant at Schölly, took over the seat on the Foreign Trade Committee in 2004, first as a guest and from 2006 as an elected member, and will enter his fourth term in October 2021. For him, the change in the committee is evident not only in the change in members and the focus of topics, but also in the active shaping of specific issues and soliciting input from companies. "Export control and foreign trade are my passion and I appreciate the communication with companies from other industries and authorities such as the customs administration" is how Schweizer describes his connection to the IHK and the Foreign Trade Committee.

He has fond memories of the exchange for the planning of Plant IV at Schölly. During the concept phase, he was able to discuss the planned conditions for achieving certification as an Authorized Economic Operator with other companies and the customs administration and incorporate the suggestions into the planning.

Regula Schölly, Shareholder Managing Director and Prof. Holger Reinecke, CEO joined the thanks of the IHK and wish Bernhard Schweizer a further successful term.
