Job profile Mechatronics Engineer

Mechatronics Engineer in an industrial company using SCHÖLLY as an example

SCHÖLLY is a family-run, market-oriented industrial company. We manufacture and distribute visualization systems and are the world market leader in 3D endoscopy. Our focus is on Medical Endoscopy and Visual Inspection. Mechatronics engineers learn how to assemble mechanical, electrical and electronic components. They assemble these components into complex systems, install control software and maintain the systems.

Activities / Job profile

Mechatronics engineers (m/f/d) are employed in different production departments. Typical tasks at SCHÖLLY are:

  • Read circuit diagrams, construction drawings and user manuals
  • Manufacture of mechanical, electrical and electronic components
  • Mounting components to mechatronic systems
  • Putting ready-made systems into operation: programming, installing software
  • Checking installations
  • Customer service
  • Mechatronic systems maintenance and repair

Where are the opportunities to work?

Mechatronics engineers (m/f/d) can work in a variety of industries, e. g. mechanical and plant engineering, automation technology, vehicle, aerospace or information, communication or medical technology. They work mainly in the workshop as well as in the workshops and on production facilities. During assembly and maintenance work, they can be used at changing places of work, e. g. at customers' premises.

What is important?

Care, skill and eye-hand coordination are particularly important in this profession, e. g. when analysing and correcting malfunctions, assembling circuit relays or replacing wear parts. Knowledge in mathematics should be available, as different measurement values are collected and evaluated. Knowledge in the field of works/technology is necessary in order to be able to install mechatronic systems or to understand technical drawings. Computer skills also make it easier to handle hardware and software components and, for example, when configuring.

Which school-leaving certificate is expected?

No specific schooling is required by law. In practice, we mainly hire trainees with an intermediate education qualification.

That’s what we offer

A well-founded training in a globally active company. You will be actively involved in the various tasks of our production departments right from the start. Do you want a challenging start to your professional life and are you willing to give your best in the company and at the vocational school? Then we look forward to receiving your application.
