Politics meets technology: Özdemir at SCHÖLLY

As part of his summer tour, Cem Özdemir, candidate for the office of Minister President of Baden-Württemberg, stopped by our company and was impressed by our company's innovative strength and technological expertise.

He was particularly fascinated by our 3D visualization systems – an example of how SCHÖLLY is using high-tech to create new perspectives for medical technology. He was able to get hands-on with the demo operating room: he expertly removed the seeds from a bell pepper.

The subsequent discussion with management focused on key topics for the medical technology industry:

  • Reducing bureaucracy for greater innovation
  • Location factors for "Made in Germany" in international competition
  • and the role of medical technology in trade policy disputes

"If we want to make a product better, we have to devote half of our energy to the bureaucratic effort," said Stefan Schnekenburger, CEO. Cem Özdemir took these concerns with him – as well as a gold-anodized laparoscope as a souvenir of SCHÖLLY.

We are delighted to have been part of this summer tour – together with other innovative companies from Baden-Württemberg.
