Ureterorenoscopy allows the visualization of bladder, ureter, and renal pelvis. The procedure is used for treatment as well as diagnostic purposes. The basis instrument is the uretero-renoscope which captures the image displayed on the monitor. This instrument is available from SCHÖLLY with a high-quality, contrast-enhancing image bundle that provides an optimal view and the best possible stability.

 

 

Key Features

Quality feature: high-performance, contrast-enhancing fiber imaging bundles

  • Our uretero-renoscopes use high-performing image bundles for optimal image transmission. Thanks to the image bundle design the endoscopes need less servicing and have a longer service life.
  • The image bundle is designed to ensure that the pixel pitch is as small as possible. This produces a homogeneous image with a minimal honeycomb appearance. 
  • The “Grid Removal” algorithm of the FlexiVision camera series can additionally optimize the image by reducing the visibility of the honeycomb structure as much as possible.

Optimal shelf life, comfortable and flexible to use

  • A bending radius of 15° in all directions offers good handling. Users can thus follow the patient’s anatomical conditions optimally without risking an injury. 
  • The shaft is made from a high-quality, medical-grade metal tube.  This material not only provides flexibility but also the necessary stiffness with regard to plastic deformation in use. The integrated light guide fibers have a tube-shaped sheathing to give them additional protection from breakage, which increases their shelf life.
  • The straight working channel allows a lithotripter to be used with the URS. This design also facilitates handling and the replacing of instruments during the procedure.
  • Different instruments, such as laser fibers, lithotripters, stone retrieval baskets, and stone extraction variants can be used.

Atraumatic tip element

  • The narrow distal diameter of just 6.0 or 7.5 Fr. and the gentle graduation of the outer diameter enable atraumatic introduction of the uretero-renoscope and protective dilation of the tissue. 

Detachable instrument bridge

  • The detachable instrument bridge facilitates and improves the cleaning and reprocessing of the uretero-renoscopes.
  • A specially designed reprocessing tray and special cleaning brushes complete our range and provide the perfect reprocessing solution.
  • The uretero-renoscope and instrument bridge form a closed system, which cannot be combined with bridges from other manufacturers. This ensures that no incompatible or unsuitable instrument bridges are connected.

Longevity

  • Our uretero-renoscopes are subjected to endurance tests under maximum load to ensure material compatibility.
  • Their reprocessing efficiency has been validated in accordance with WHO requirements for medical devices.
  • The illumination fibers and image bundles are designed stress-free and therefore able to withstand the loads imposed in autoclaves.
