FlexiScope® 2 and 3 probes

A varied range of probes for frequently changing inspection tasks

 

FlexiScope 2 and 3 probes can be combined with the FlexiScope 2 system and the FlexiScope 3 camera handpiece. The probes can be attached to the handpiece in seconds by means of a quick coupling. Because of the simple handling, the light weight of probes and connecting device, the system is suitable for quick spot checks but also for 100% control. Characteristic for the FlexiScope probe program is the availability of small working diameters with different directions of view. With these features, places in miniaturized components or fine bore holes that are very difficult to see can be inspected. To protect parts from abrasion and wear, protective tubes are offered for the probes.

The FlexiScope 2 and 3 probes are part of a modular inspection system. As basic equipment for an operational system, you need the following components: FlexiScope 2 and 3 probes, FlexiScope 3 camera handpiece, the camera base unit FlexiVision 100 and a monitor.

Choose from the following list the desired working diameter of the FlexiScope 2 and 3 probes.

Probes with a working diameter of 0.7 mm and 1.0 mm

The FlexiScope 2 and 3 probes in a diameter of 0.7 mm and 1.0 mm are available in a working length of 150 mm.
The image transmission takes place by means of high-quality fiber image bundles which are encased in a synthetic tube (working Ø 0.7 mm) or in a nickel-titanium pipe (working Ø 1.0 mm).

Features of the probe with working Ø 0.7 mm:

  • flexible with a fiber optic in a synthetic tube

  • image bundle 6k pixels

  • image optimization in combination with the video algorithms of the FlexiVision 100

Features of the probe with working Ø 1.0 mm:

  • robust due to fiber optic in a nickel-titanium pipe
  • easily bent, in contrast to rigid probes
  • image bundle 17k pixels
  • image optimization in combination with the video algorithms of the FlexiVision 100

Application:

Ideal for very fine bore holes and openings, for example, for visual inspections of injection nozzles, miniature ball bearings, miniature screw threads, turbine blades or circuit boards

Probes with a working diameter of 1.6 and 2.0 mm

Depending on the version the FlexiScope 2 and 3 probes in a diameter range of 1.6 mm and 2.0 mm are available in the working lengths between 100 mm and 150 mm. The image transmission is carried out by high-quality fiber image bundles that are encased in a synthetic tube, a nickel-titanium pipe or in a stainless steel pipe.

Features of the probe with a working Ø of 1.6 mm:

  • robust and easily bent probes (fiber optic in nickel-titanium pipe) or flexible probes (fiber optic in a synthetic tube)

  • image bundles 17k or 30k pixels, depending on version

  • image optimization in combination with the video algorithms of the FlexiVision 100

Features of the probe with a working Ø of 2.0 mm:

  • robust thanks to fiber optic in a stainless steel pipe
  • image bundle 30k or 50k pixels, depending on version
  • image optimization in combination with the video algorithms of the FlexiVision 100

Application:

Ideal for inspection of cross holes or all-round inspections, thanks to the sideview versions. The probes are used, for example, for visual inspections of nozzle bodies, hydraulic and pneumatic components, valve regulation blocks or for door lock inspection.

Probes with a working diameter of 2.7 mm

Depending on the version, the FlexiScope 2 and 3 probes in the diameter range of 2.7 mm are available in working lengths between 110 mm and 290 mm. For image transmission, rod lens systems are utilized which provide excellent image quality. The rod lens systems are encased in stainless steel pipes.

Features of the probe with a working Ø of 2.7 mm:

  • very good image transmission thanks to rod lens systems

  • rigid probes in stainless steel version

  • excellent image results in combination with the full HD competence of the FlexiVision 100

Application:

The probes can be used for visual inspections of cross holes or borehole walls. Typical test objects are injection pumps, pump covers, hydraulic and pneumatic components, micro-drives, castings, welding sleeves, engine blocks, cylinder heads or brake master cylinders.

Probes with a working diameter of 4.0 mm

Depending on the version, the FlexiScope 2 and 3 probes in a diameter range of 4.0 mm are available in working lengths between 170 mm and 425 mm. For image transmission, rod lens systems are utilized which provide excellent image quality. The rod lens systems are encased in stainless steel pipes.

Features of the probe with a working Ø of 4.0 mm:

  • very good image transmission thanks to rod lens systems

  • rigid probes in stainless steel version

  • excellent image results in combination with the full HD competence of the FlexiVision 100

Application:

The probes are used for visual inspections of cross holes or borehole walls. They are used with larger bore holes such as injection pumps, pump covers, hydraulic and pneumatic components, micro-drives, castings, welding sleeves, engine blocks, cylinder heads or brake master cylinders.

Application-specific probes

SCHÖLLY develops application-specific FlexiScope 2 and 3 probes. These are adjusted to the special demands of the individual inspection task. Application-specific probes are necessary when the inspection area cannot be reached by standard probes.
In the picture on the left you can see a 90° bent probe. The image transmission takes place by fiber optics. The direction of view is 90°. It was made especially for the inspection of housings of turbo chargers.

Protection tubes for FlexiScope probes

With protection tubes you can protect FlexiScope probes from abrasion and extend their service life. Protection tubes can easily be attached to the probes.

Protection tubes prevent severe bending and thus possible damage of the probes. The slight overlapping at the tip helps to avoid damage of the distal end caused by accidental contact during inspection.
