What modern camera technology can do?

8 good reasons for you to use it.

1. Defects are detected more quickly with full HD

With full HD technology, inspection images are represented on the monitor with 1920 pixels in the horizontal and with 1080 pixels in the vertical. The high resolution provides a detailed image with over 2 million pixels. Inspection systems with PAL resolution, for example, achieve only 440k pixels. With the higher resolution in full HD, defects are shown in detail and thus quickly detected.

2. Inspection images can be stored for documentation reasons

During endoscopic inspection, samples can be stored on a USB stick as images. In the case of customer complaints, the product´s condition at delivery can be verified with the help of the inspection image.

3. Efficient inspection procedure with video algorithms

With video algorithms, the inspection image can be optically altered to provide additional information. The video algorithm “Selective Color Enhancement,” for example, emphasizes deviations so that the operator can see them quickly and effortlessly. In the example on the left, we can detect corrosion which is more easily seen with the algorithm.

4. Target/actual comparisons on the monitor give the operator more assurance

In order to reliably identify a defect, a reference image can be shown directly on the monitor. With the so-called Split Screen function, half of the screen shows the live image of the optical inspection and the other half shows any desired image. This can be, for example, a reference image with the target state or the defect in the inspection object. In this way, a direct comparison and a faster decision can be made.

5. The inspection images do not develop only in the head of the tester

In contrast to direct visual inspections with an endoscope, where the test can be carried out by only one person, in inspections with modern camera technology the images are visualized on a monitor. This enables all the people involved in judging critical defects to see the same image.

6. Sustained concentrated worktime and less fatigue

The high resolution in full HD (1920 x 1080p), as well as the chance to identify defects more quickly, thanks to algorithms, is less tiring for the tester in the long run. With modern camera technology, testers avoid concentration errors and the general inspection quality is raised.

7. You can use the endoscopes you already have and benefit from modern functions

The new camera technology can be used with your current endoscopes. All endoscopes and fiberscopes with DIN ocular are attached to the FlexiVision 100 with the HD camera head.

8. The system is a sound investment in the future

Altogether, the system covers a diameter range of under one millimeter up to greater endoscope diameters of, for example, 10 mm. In the small diameter range of 0.7 – 4 mm, we recommend the FlexiScope 2 and 3 probes. In the larger diameter range you can use the high-quality HD optics from SCHÖLLY or any endoscopes with DIN ocular. So the system is also ready for new inspection tasks.
